USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG60)

RIMPAC 2004, 30 June- 24 July 2004

Pearl Harbor Hawaii

I have had the ultimate sea adventure this summer.I want to first thank the CO from the Paul Hamilton who allowed me to be a rider on his ship. I also want to thank the Supply officer from MIDPAC for making the arrangements with the ship also special thanks to suppo and leading CS for their support and finally to the ships company for making feel at home.

I have spent 120 days sea up to my last underway .I have experienced many great things in the Navy. The RIMPAC has been the icing on the cake for me. 20 days at sea The OP TEMPO was very fast .I watched Harpoons being fired, missiles being launched. a 5inch live fire that sunk a ship. A boat race with USS LAKE ERIE (CG70) we lost that. I saw lava going into the ocean the Temperature of the ocean was warm 80 degree I saw 40 ships line for a photo shoot. The training I was involved was working with culinary specialists for 20 days we cooked for 300 sailors up at 0430 and going all day till 1800 that was cooks I only worked 10 hrs a day I got visit some of the other ships and submarine and met some outstanding sailors from all over the world. Again Thank you

Paul Hamilton for the privilege.
